Race for Life 2011

On Sunday 26 June a team of St Albans staff, aided by family and friends, took part in the 'Race for Life' 5k charity run around Walsall Arboretum. St Albans' supremo Tonia Flannagan led a crack team that included Jag Bains, Julie Lawley, Debbie Billington, Louise Box, young Frankie-Jay Flannagan and Tonia's mother Jenny Hall, who provided the original inspiration for our team to put on their running shoes. Jenny was diagnosed with cancer of the head and neck in 2010. She was successfully treated at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and has made an excellent recovery.

Everyone involved had a great day out and more importantly, everyone completed the course. Jag managed to compete despite a painful knee injury, so very well done to her. And special praise goes to Frankie-Jay and Debbie, who ran the whole way around the course. It is rumoured that the team have already filled in their entrance forms for next year's London Marathon, so watch this space...
