Out-of-school activities

A recent community consultation undertaken by St Albans with existing users and local residents - including all pupils at Holly Lodge Secondary school - highlighted the widespread need for quality out-of-school activities in the area.

In recent years St Albans Community Centre has worked in partnership with local group Spot On to secure funding for a number of arts, enviroment and sports based holiday schemes. The schemes have been supported by Awards for All, Local Network Fund and the Arts Council. Each scheme has seen 20 - 25 children and young people work alongside artists and professionals to produce beautiful work which is now displayed prominently at locations throughout the area, including the local library.
