Dragon
Another succesfull Holiday Scheme was held at St Albans during the 2008 Easter holiday. The children who took part helped design and construct a huge mosaic dragon, which is planed to be mounted on one of the centres outside walls overlooking the play area.
The project was delivered by Spot On in conjunction with St Albans and artist Ros Ingram.
Like previous projects this one involved about twenty local children aged between 8 and 12 who visited the centre, where they worked under the guidance and encouragement of experienced professionals.
The detail of this design meant that the project was very exacting, but undaunted, the children knuckled down to it and showed impressive levels of concentration, ingenuity and imagination.
Besides working on the dragon the children were also given the opportunity to work with clay, making some very interesting peices entirely of their own design.
This messy work proved to be very popular with everyone.
